Checklist before packing up and leaving

  1. Take Pictures of the computer’s connections on your phone for reference.
    i.e. What’s plugged into the back of the machine and where the cables lead.
  2. Ensure your computer is setup for VPN.  (And the Cisco Anyconnect Client is installed correctly.)
  1. CRITICAL –  Please ensure you have logged onto said computer at LEAST ONE TIME – prior to taking computer home.  (Failure to do this, will require the computer be brought back to the office.)
  2. Ensure that the machine is powered off before removing any connections.
  3. This is the list of items you may need to be sure you can function from home:
    • Computer (Desktop or All-In-One)
    • Ethernet Cable from computer, it will connect to your home router.
      • If you need an ethernet cable, please contact IT and indicate length.
      • If wireless adapter is needed, please contact IT
    • NOTE:  Due to potential issues, strength and associated troubleshooting that can occur with WIRELESS – We strongly recommend being WIRED for any remote work.
    • Keyboard
    • Mouse
    • Wrist rest/Mouse Pad
    • Desktop Scanner (If you have one attached and it is required for your job.)
    • Monitor Cables attached from the computer to the monitor
    • Monitor(s)
    • All power cables
    • Power strip (Surge protector if you have one.)
      a)  If you need one, please contact IT
    • Headset (If you have one attached.)
    • Local/USB printer if required at home
    • Phone forwarding.  (If approved and needed.)

Please ensure you follow this form before taking equipment home, as this will ensure that the move from the office to home is as smooth as possible.
